Christrnas Snow Globes

Cover Announcement 

This past year's Christmas stamps were miniature holiday scenes placed inside snow globes - a really creative idea and a nice change of pace for the U.S.P.S. These snow globes are little holiday celebrations. One shake, and snow flurries enhance the scene.

Four designs showcase the snow globes Christrnas stamps. There is a jaunty snowrnan wearing a long red and white scarf and black top hat; Santa with a firll bag of toys slung over his shoulder while on a roof stepping into a chimney; a reindeer standing alert in a wintry birch tree forest; and a snow-covered tree festively decorated with colorful ornaments. The background color of each stamp is visible through the four snow globes, and my hand painted cachets are similarly colored to complement the tones and scenes on the stamps.

The first of my two snow globe covers shows Santa placing the finishiug touch on a jovial snowrnan - a black top hat trimmed with a red ribbon and a sprig of green holIy. The snowman is now complete with a blue and white striped scarf and carrot nose. The background colors of this cachet are green and blue which enhance the snowman and Santa stamps that appear on the cover.
