LaSalle Canyon Waterfall in Illinois & Upper Falls in North Carolina

LaSalle Canyon Waterfall is located in Starved Rock State Park in Illinois. There are many canyons within the park's 2,630 acres. Diverse forest plant life exists in the park, and the area supports several wild animal species. Also, much interest is focused on sport fishing.

About 15,000 years ago, a catastrophic flood helped create the park's signature geology and features which are unusual for the central plains. LaSalle Canyon itself is cavernous and dramatic with its sandstone walls. The most exciting feature of the canyon is the waterfall that runs almost all year long.

The state of North Carolina has many amazing and unique waterfalls. The one included in this set is Upper Falls which is located along the Blue Ridge Parkway near Asheviile. The 60-foot waterfall descends the steep rock face, sending out sprays that support many types of ferns and wildflowers.
