Lot 5 C203 — Special Olympics — 8/9/79

I arrived at the small Brockport Airport the evening before the day of issue. Contingents of Special Olympics athletes were arriving, and it was so heart-warming and emotional to watch the spirited welcoming committees in action. The kids were so excited about being there. It was very touching. Only 100 of this cover exist. After getting the Brockport and Victor first day postmarks, I stayed one more day and got a beautiful August 10th postmark which documented the beginning of the Games. Only 100 were produced!
