Lot 5 J201 — Christmas 1979 (10-18-79)

This was my second Christmas as a cachetmaker, and the new Santa stamp was issued in North Pole, Alaska. A single has the slogan first day of issue postmark. A second stamp was then canceled at the Fairbanks Downtown Branch with a nice double ring bullseye postmark. The hand painted cachet has a toy locomotive, a gingerbread boy, a bell ornament, a drum, and a star Christmas cookie. Rounding out the cachet is a stuffed stocking and springs of holly. Seasons Greetings from the North Pole from over 40 years ago.
