This was my second Christmas as a cachetmaker, and the new Santa stamp was issued in North Pole, Alaska. My hand painted cachet captures the season's spirit showing a toy train, a gingerbread cookie, a bell ornament, a drum, and a star Christmas cookie. A sprig of holly and a stuffed bear peeking out of a stocking complete the cachet. The Santa Claus stamp on the lower right is canceled with the First Day of Issue postmark from North Pole, Alaska. The religious Christmas stamp was placed in the upper right and is canceled First Day of Issue from Washington, D.C. Only 96 covers were produced with this configuration of cancels.
