An interesting "entire" hand-painted cachet brings you to an urban waterfront. On the river, a tugboat pulls a barge but the load on the barge is most unusual -- a pair of the fifteencent stamps canceled at First Day City, Long Beach, California. The purple color of the stamps blends perfectly with the purples and violets of the city skyline. In the foreground on the wharf, a couple engages in conversation oblivious to the events around them. A fisherman tends his pole and watches the tug pass by hauling its stamp ladened barge. Unusual. Item #J1401 - $7.00.
