Walk in the Water - 1818

The most obvious thing about this entire hand-painted cachet is the traditional "look" of watercolor art. This whole set lends itself to a beautiful portrayal of water and ships from an era of America's past.

"Walk in the Water" is shown on the ocean as she churns through whitecaps of sea-green water. Gulls fly about and on the horizon a variety of sailing vessels are visible. The age of sail will continue for awhile but the birth of steam has occurred.

Still available are the previously offered ships "Phoenix" at $7.50 and "Experiment" at $7.25. Still coming in the future are the "New Orleans" and the "Washington".

The single stamp has a New Orleans, First Day bullseye postmark. I'm please to present this artistic cover for your collection. Item #P1505 -  $7.25.
