Santa's Sleigh

The cancel and cachet combine to make this one of the cutest and most festive covers that I have ever offered. The scene is the "Reindeer Barn" at the North Pole and the time is Christmas Eve day. Standing in their stalls and peering out of their stable doors are Dancer, Prancer, Comet, and Cupid. They are identified by individual nameplates. In front of the barn, a brightly colored sleigh is loaded with a huge sack of presents and toys ready for the up-coming journey. This "entire" hand-painted cachet really captures the holiday mood.

A fine "North Pole" New York unofficial (real) First Day cancel adds related philatelic meaning to the cover. The stamp itself has the sleigh theme so it goes nicely with the cachet.

The reindeer are ready, the sleigh is ready, the stamp is canceled at the North Pole and this COLLINS is a Christmas FDC that will delight any collector. Item #P1601. $8.50
