Lot 19 V1601, V1602, V1603, V1604, and V1605 — Future Mail Transportation — 11/27/89

These are five different space cachets featuring future modes of mail transportation, V1601 has all four of the 45-cent stamps and a rocket cachet (not pictured). The other four covers have one each of the new stamps. The hand painted cachets include a rocket blasting off with a U.S. mail satellite on the nose; a space station with a U.S. mail capsule docking; a trio of futuristic delivery automobiles; and an ultra-modern jet aircraft. These are really neat cachets! The pictorial postmark features a flight of three jet planes, and you had to be there on issue day to obtain it. A crisp group of five futuristic covers that offer much upside potential in terms of future value. It's a great collectible set for space enthusiasts as well as Collins collectors.
