AMERICAN ARCHITECTURE

On October 9th, I arrived in New York City early with a couple of friends. After servicing the covers at the main city Post Office, traveled north along the Hudson River to Tarrytown. My friends took some of the covers for a great unofficial at Lyndhurst, N.J.

Arriving in Tarrytown, famous for the tales of author Washington Irving, I was most grateful for the cooperation and hospitality of the Postmaster. When the covers were finished, I headed west across the Tappan Zee Bridge and home.

Both unofficials are large, bold and clear. The pair of covers taken together represent nicely the Lyndhurst Mansion located in Tarrytown. The handpainted cachet, showing Lyndhurst, is very attractive.
