Early on, I carefully laid the travel plans to New Orleans. The trip was to come immediately after a family vacation to Pennsylvania. Everything went according to plan -- I dropped off the family, headed to the airport and enjoyed a nice flight. Arriving late evening, I took a taxi to the Holiday Inn -- a beautiful place. Making arrangements with Jim (taxi owner/driver) to be picked up the next morning, I retired for the night. Jim was punctual, and I enjoyed our conversation as we traveled downtown, past the Super Dome Sports Complex, to the post office. Then the shock. The First Day date had been changed for the second time, and I was a couple days too late. I chalk it up to making plans too far in advance and being away on vacation thus not being "in touch" on a current basis.

I canceled my flight reservation to Galveston, Texas (my second cancel) and returned home. The covers were then serviced through the mail. It was a disheartening experience, but I consider it a good lesson.
