PUMPKINSEED SUNFISH

This beautiful "pumpkinseed" is familiar to those who fish in the ponds and lakes of the eastern, north central, and northwestern sections of our country. It displays brilliant coloring and reaches a length of about seven inches. My COLLINS cachet produced for this issue is one of the boldest nature covers in my history. In order to realistically capture all of the lovely markings -- both subtle and vivid -- I designed the painting of the fish itself to encompass the entire face of the cover. In all honesty, the result is magnificent as this gorgeous creation of nature's handiwork swims through bright green aquatic plantlife.

The new forty-five cent stamp has the Washington, D.C. bullseye postmark. This is a really nice First Day Cover and I'm sure in the years ahead will become very desirable and sought after. Item #A2101. $10.50.
