The Fleet/Crossing the Atlantic 

Three small ships that changed the world are the subject of this cover. The stamp shows the fleet as it embarks on a smooth sea and the hand-painted cachet captures the three vessels as the waves begin to churn and storm clouds gather on the horizon. Bravery was a daily attribute of these early mariners as they took sail into the unknown in frail, wooden ships. This COLLINS captures the Nina, Pinta, and Santa Maria as the fleet, unknowingly, sets a course to the New World.

Each of the FDCs in this set has the bullseye Day of Issue postmark from Christiansted, Virgin Islands. Each also has the text presented in a bold type-style that enhances the appearance of the over-all cover. You will like them very much. Again, these are entirely different items from the 16 stamps issued in the Columbus souvenir sheet. I am very pleased to offer these two covers for your collection.
