It is always a pleasure to offer Olympic material as this is one of the most popular of all collecting topics. These bold, attractive hand-painted COLLINS cachets are the finest I've ever produced for Olympic issues.

For starters this offering presents two of the covers--Swimming and Women's Gymnastics. And...speaking of starting.. .that's exactly what the swimming cachet depicts. Five female swimmers are captured at the exact start of their race. Their arched bodies angle toward the blue pool water segmented by red lane ropes. The U.S. flag adorns the caps of the three nearest athletes identifying them as American swimmers. This is a nice piece and it will make a splash in your collection.

The second cover ofered here is the Women's Gymnastics stamp. In the background, a large arena crowd seems transfixed by the graceful competitors. In the foreground, I've divided the cachet into two distinct parts. In the foreground, a young gymnast works the balance beam. She is completing a handstand with lower body and legs extended back over her head at almost a 90 degree angle. The crowd enjoys her routine while she strains to impress the judges with technical merit. Part two of the cachet captures another athlete doing her floor exercise. She leaps high into the air doing a full split with arms extended and head tilted back for that special look of confidence and grace. A most desirable FDC that you'll flip over.
