"I PLEDGE ALLEGIANCE" - FLAG STAMP 

If you enjoy the traditional look in your collection, you will truly appreciate this cover. Stamp, postmark, text, and hand-painted cachet have all come together in this effort to provide a very pleasing appearance. The flag stamp itself, although simple in design, has nice coloring and a crisp waving in the breeze design. I was able to obtain an excellent related First Day cancellation from Flagtown, New Jersey which adds both philatelic interest and visual impact.

Above the stamp and postmark I've included the full text of the Pledge of Allegiance in a nice script-like type style. For a cover like this, it belongs. The hand-painted cachet pictures four citizens, hands over heart, reciting the Pledge. They are framed by flags and a small eagle. The small group captures the melting pot diversity of age, race, ethnicity and gender. It is fair to say that this COLLINS cachet portrays the quiet, firm resolve of the American spirit.
