Block of Four

Four-wheeled antique toys are the subjects on this set of four stamps. A race horse with jockey, a steam locomotive, an early fire pumper truck, and a multi-decked steam boat. This block of four new Christmas stamps has the "First Day of Issue" cancellation.

My hand-painted cachet is a personal favorite which portrays the youthful joy of the holiday season. A snow-capped, brightly colored cottage is a snug, warm haven in the white blanketed countryside. Smoke swirls from a brick chimney--a sure sign that a cheery fire beckons from within. A top-hatted snowman is a welcoming committee of one in the front yard with outstretched branch arms and a face and buttons of coal.

In the foreground, three bundled children head for home having completed their Christmas shopping. A large sled with wooden runners is loaded with wrapped gifts. The youngest child rides on the sled amid the presents while older brother and sister walk in front. The flapped cap and scarf on the boy and the tassled hat and hand muff worn by the girl attest to the chilly winter temperature. They are but a short, downhill walk to home and hearth.
