WINTER OLYMPICS

This is another of the 1984 covers vet to be offered. It has the traditional style COLLINS Olympic cachet, and it shows a hockey scene a blue clad Dlaver from the U.S.Ä. and his red clad Russian counterpart.

Apair of stamps (cross-country skiing and ice hockey) has the Lake Placid First Day of Issue machine cancel. The opposite pair (ice dancina and downhill skiing) has an unofficial First Day cancel from Saranac Lake. I chose this as the unofficial because, aside from being a sister village to Lake Placid, the first four letters "Sara n are the same as the first four in Sarajevo - the winter games site in Yugoslavia.

As a (1) soorts, (2) Olympic, and (3) COLLINS First Day cover, this is one that you should have. With all four 204 Winter Olympic stamps, two First Day cancels, and a hand-painted cachet, it is a fine collectible. Item #Q701 - $6.00
