Mark Twain

The Adventures of Tom Sawyer

and Huckleberry Finn

In the late 1800s, Mark Twain wrote his famous yarns about the adventures of two Mississippi River boys — Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn. My individually hand painted cachet could become a classic collectible as it captures the essence of Twain's famous characters.

The freckled Tom munches on an apple as he enjoys the summer day and the company of his good friend Huck. Finn is the picture of contentment as he concentrates on his fishing pole while taking pleasure from his corn-cob pipe. Since Tom was more well-to-do, he's dressed in store-bought clothes complete with a pair of shoes. Huck, on the other hand, is more down to earth with patched britches, a straw hat, and bare feet.

This hand painted Collins First Day Cover captures the Mississippi writings of Mark Twain. A twinstack riverboat steams by as two All-American boys capture the imagination of the reading public eager to share their tales of adventure. Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn — Collins #E4901 at $14.00.
