Carmen Miranda

Carmen was born in Portugal but raised in Brazil. She gained fame as a singer before moving to the United States. Once in New York City the multi-talented star appeared on the theater stage; in various variety shows during the Golden Age of television; and performed on many radio shows of her era.

Known as the "Brazilian Bombshell" due to her good looks and flamboyant costumes, her personal identifying outfit included an exotic headpiece adorned with tropical fruit. She appeared in 14 Hollywood musicals and recorded more than 300 songs.

My individually hand painted cachet shows the beautiful Latin entertainment legend as she performs wearing one of her fruit-laden costumes. To enhance the artwork and to provide additional sources of color and interest, I've flanked Carmen with two more groupings of tropical fruit. This is a wonderful cachet, and I'm happy to now offer it as a tribute to this lovely, dynamic and talented Latin Music Legend.
