The royal wedding of Prince William, Duke of Cambridge, and Catherine Middleton took place on April 29, 2011 at Westminster Abbey in London. My individually hand painted cachet in this ongoing Romantic Couples series shows Kate in her wedding gown and William in his Colonel of the Irish Guard uniform. They make a lovely couple on this Collins First Day Cover and quite probably will be the future King and Queen of Great Britain.

The pair met when they were both students at the University of St. Andrews. They became engaged on October 20, 2010, making it official that Catherine, a commoner, was to marry into the royal family. The Archbishop of Canterbury conducted the wedding service and immediately upon the completion of her vows, Kate Middleton became "Her Royal Highness the Duchess of Cambridge." After the ceremony, the bride and groom traveled by royal coach to Buckingham Palace for the traditional appearance on the balcony. I'm pleased to offer my cover for this current day romantic couple.
