I'm pleased to continue this "subscriber-only" set which is a unique undertaking in the history of Collins First Day Covers. Now ready is Charles Demuth who started with watercolors but transitioned to oils late in his career. He developed a style of painting known as precisionism.

Demuth was known for his exacting observation and cubist abstraction. The stamp shows his most famous painting, "The Figure Five in Gold," while the hand painted cachet pays tribute to a series of factory works he completed shortly before his death.
