1991 WEST VIRGINIA

An o1d stone mill provides the setting for the first MTLFORD of 1991. A pair of graceful marlards glide in for a landing on the picturesque millpond bordered by autumn gord foliage. One can imagine the only sounds being the cascading flow off the sturdy waterwheel and an occasional quacking.

Complementing the Duck stamp, postage requirements are met by the West Virginia Flag and Preserving Wetlands stamps. All three are tied to the cover by a January 2nd First Day cancel. Serial numbers used were 7141. to 7490 except 7323, 27, 44, 45, and 90.
