The Hooded Merganser is one of the "diving ducks" and this MILFORD provides an unusual underwater view as one pursues a darting minnow. Body and tufted head feathers are slicked back by the water and speed of the dive. Hand-painting alIows the careful color coordination between stamp border and cachet which results in the attractive appearance.

The stamp denomination is $13.00 -- highest of all the states. Serial numbers used are 5501 thru 5850.
