1991 MICHIGAN

For those collectors with strong philatelic interests, the obvious gemstone on this cover is the very large pictorial postmark. The stamps were arranged to accommodate this "Capitol City" Philatelic Center cancellation.

When one observes wild ducks they often flutter upright in the water flapping their wings. In this hand-painted cachet, a blue-winged teal, with dampened and dripping feathers, exercises its wings. Note subtle shadows and sky reflections in the rippling waters.
