A glossy purple head is the distinctive marking of the male Lesser Scaup. On a floating platform of lily pads, a solitaiy frog watches a pair of the handsome ducks taking a leisurely swim. The coloring and pose in tfre cachet complement those in the nine-dollar Ohio stamp.
