A herd of cattle grazes under a dawn sky in the Lone Star State. In the foreground, a multi--colored male woodduck stands alertly on a half-submerged log. Nearby, his mate has found a similar perch.

The extra large duck stamp plus the State Flag and Wetlands stamps are tied to the cover with a Day of Issue cancel from Austin. Serial numbers used were 139-048221-2 through 139-048530-2 except 48370-2 was not used.
