This MILFORD is the most unusual item to date that I have produced for my Duck stamp First Day Covers. The U.S. comedian stamps were being issued at the same time and I took the opportunity to obtain a combination First Day Cover.

In the era that Laure1 and Hardy were tickling the nation's funnybone, a smal1 duck in a sailor's uniform was on his way to becoming the world's most famous waterfowl. This whimsical MILFORD cachet is done in cartoon style to capture the humor of half a century ago.

Serial numbers used were in segments of twenty-five.

These segments began with 34-01- to 34-25 and ended at

46-01- to 46-10. Not used were 35-21, 35-22, 36-05, 35-10, 36-20, 39-21, 40-18, and 41-13. The net number produced was 302.
