1991 VERMONT

The postmaster at the Montpelier office was a delight to meet and talk to. He extended me the fullest courtesy and cooperation and I wish to document this because I want all collectors to their know that MILFORDS would not be possible without the on-going, caring attitude and service of U.S. postal people. I always express our gratitude -- mine and yours.

The hand-painted cachet shows a puffed-up hooded

merganser cruising on an autumn waterway. Note the fa11 foliage and the way the gray tones of the cachet coordinate with those in the stamp. The cream corored sky is reflected in the water giving this MILFORD cachet a beautiful composition.
