This is a special First Day Cover as it is the first Massachusetts MILFORD. The waterfowl stamps of this state are somewhat unique as they depict various decoys hand carved by craftsmen. On this edition there appears a black-belIied plover. In the handpainted cachet, three plovers wade in the gentle surf as it washes against a Cape Cod sand dune.

No serial numbers were printed on this issue. 310 covers were produced.
