Bold and dynamic are two words which can accurately describe this COLLINS Olympic First Day Cover. In keeping with the stamp design, the background on the hand-painted cachet is the key to the feeling of motion and depth that is conveyed. The stamp is positioned at the top of the cover and the ring straps appear from beneath it. The vertical format gives my muscular gymnast just the right perspective as he works at this strenuous and demanding event. Note the "black on white" dominance that gives the covers its character -- and sets the stage for the cranberry uniform, blond hair, and flesh tones.

I'm happy with the graphics, the design, and the painting. The more I view it, the more I see and the more it grows on me. An excellent sports and Olympic item and one that will be sought by present and future collectors. Item #P1401 - $8.00.
