Ring-Necked Pheasant
Collins Cover Announcementg
RING-NECKED PHEASANT
This ranks right up there with the finest wildlife covers I've ever produced. If you enjoy nature FDOs, I c u only urge that you don't miss the opportunity to add this beauty to your collection.
It is winter on the plains and a pair of pheasants makes their way across the snow-blanketed remnants of a corn field. The stubble of the once tall stalks protrudes through the white layer. Here and there, an ear of corn remains lying on the ground -- missed by the autumn harvest. These are the morsels that the two regal game birds are seeking.
And the hand-painted colors of these two pheasants make this COLLINS one that you will treasure. Emerald green, crimson red and an assortment of rusts, browns, grays and tans give this cover a special appearance that will make you very appreciative of this winter scene.
Each cover has one stamp officially canceled at Rapid City, South Dakota and another single unofficially canceled at Woodland Park, Colorado. A lot of miles were traveled on the First Day in order to provide these dual Day of Issue cancels.
In summary, this is a watercolor wildlife “entire” will provide total satisfaction for nature buffs. The pair of magnificent ring-necked pheasants in the winter Dakota cornfield. The two stamps, each with First Day cancel. A winner! Item #T1301 - $8.50.
